Youth dies after alleged beating at South Garia drug rehab, family vandalizes centre in protest
A tragic accident occurred late Sunday night in Mallawan town, Hardoi district, Uttar Pradesh, when a speeding private bus collided with a car, resulting in the deaths of five individuals and leaving four others critically injured. The victims were returning from a wedding ceremony at Santosh Palace in Gabdaha village, Kanpur, when the crash happened near Gauri Chowk around 11:30 PM. The car was struck head-on by the bus, killing five passengers on the spot.
The deceased have been identified as Seema Devi, Pratibha, Pratibha Devi, Ramlali, and Shubham, all from the Madhauganj area. Four other passengers, including children Keshav and Shaurya, were severely injured and were initially admitted to the Mallawan Community Health Center before being referred to Lucknow for further treatment. The condition of the injured remains critical.
Following the incident, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his condolences and instructed local authorities to carry out rescue and relief operations. Mallawan police have registered a case based on the complaint filed by Naresh Chandra, a relative of the victims. Investigations are ongoing, with efforts underway to locate the bus involved in the crash. Police have assured that strict action will be taken against those responsible.
